About

Re-storying community: Arts-based digital storytelling for community inquiry is supported by New Frontiers in Research Fund 2022 Special Call: Research for postpandemic recovery, which targets Canadian-led interdisciplinary, international, high-risk and high-reward research.

This study aims to mobilize interdisciplinary scholarship and university community collaboration in response to ways of fostering sustainable community development for postpandemic recovery. With post-secondary institutions in Bhutan, Canada, and Nepal, we will conduct empirical studies and cross-comparison of site findings to generate new knowledge on this global challenge. Our focus on research-action synergy for supporting community resilience and development will take place through virtual trans-national teaching and learning exchanges, a living archive (e.g., podcasts, archival mapping, data visualization, and digital storytelling), scholarly publications, community showcases, workshops-forums, and multimedia art exhibitions.

Re-storying Community investigates community participation and engagement through arts-based digital storytelling to explore the role of community as a space of knowledge production, as well as how community members help produce such a space as an integral part of global postpandemic recovery.
